What is Boxee?

Boxee is a fantastic way in which you can watch movies as well as TV shows and clips on your TV from the internet. After installing free software onto your computer, you can simply connect it to your TV with either an DVI cord or an HDMI, depending on the type of computer you have.

Which Platforms are Suitable for Boxee?

Boxee will run on many of the major computer platforms:

  • Linux – Ubuntu (0.10 Karmic Koala, 9.04 Jaunty Antelope)
  • Windows – XP, Vista, 7
  • Apple Macintosh – Mac OS X (Leopard 10.5, Tiger 10.4, Snow Leopard 10.6)
  • Apple TV – another developer has worked to make Boxee available on Apple TV

What is a Boxee Box?

Boxee Box’s will be available soon (they’re already taking pre-orders on Amazon) which means that you won’t even need a PC to get all of these fantastic programs on your TV, and you’ll even be able to watch thousands of movies and TV shows for free! These Boxee Box’s will all come with their own Qwerty keyboards (only I could spell that wrong first time, why is it called Qwerty again?) on the back of the remote, so you don’t have to try and pick out letters on screen. It’s so simple it’ll blow your socks off!  Why pay for things you don’t use? It’s just throwing money away.
